A talk was given by the Head of the SDAT Education Department at the of the Statistics and its Aplications, Lisbon, Portugal under the title of "Bonus-Malus Systems: A Discussion of Some of the Problems".
A Bonus-Malus System (BMS) is one of the ratemaking methods generally used in automobile insurance. BMS penalizes policyholders at faults for one or more claims by a premium surcharge, known as malus, and rewards the policyholders with a claim-free year by granting discount in the premium say bonus. An optimal BMS should be possibly fair for policyholders and financially balanced for the insurer. While much progress has been made on the development of BMS but for practical applications, many questions remain, including the reliability and efficiency of the systems. To deal with system efficiency ‘rigorously’ an open portfolio assumption must be considered. The approximation techniques proposed for this purpose are largely at a conceptual stage. In this talk, we categorize the existing BMS and then discuss the challenges in both theory and practice.

A Symposium on the Structural and Functional Brain Image Analysis in Clinical and Research Applications hold on February 28, March 1 2017 (Esfand 10,11 1395) in Bushehr, Iran. Dr. Mohammad Ali Oghabian, the faculty memebr at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) and the head of the Neuroimaging and Analysis Group at TUMS, Dr. Amir Hossein Batouli, Dr. Arash Zare Sadeghi and Dr. Seyed Morteza Najibi, Head of Scientific Data Analysis Team (SDAT) presented their talks in this Symposium and a workshop in fMRI neuro-imaging.
An specialized meeting on Data mining application in Healthcare Systems was held at Healthcare Insurance Organization in Busheher on December 6, 2016. Integrates the theory and applications of statistics using R. A Course in Statistics with R has been written to bridge the gap between theory and applications and explain how mathematical expressions are converted into R programs. The book has been primarily designed as a useful companion for a Masters student during each semester of the course, but will also help applied statisticians in revisiting the underpinnings of the subject. With this dual goal in mind, the book begins with R basics and quickly covers visualization and exploratory analysis. Probability and statistical inference, inclusive of classical, nonparametric, and Bayesian schools, is developed with definitions, motivations, mathematical expression and R programs in a way which will help the reader to understand the mathematical development as well as R implementation. Linear regression models, experimental designs, multivariate analysis, and categorical data analysis are treated in a way which makes effective use of visualization techniques and the related statistical techniques underlying them through practical applications, and hence helps the reader to achieve a clear understanding of the associated statistical models.
SDAT is an abbreviation for Scientific Data Analysis Team. It consists of groups who are specialists in various fields of data sciences including Statistical Analytics, Business Analytics, Big Data Analytics and Health Analytics.
